MEC Crossover RT Impresses ConExpo Visitors
April 20, 2011
MEC Aerial Work Platforms took the opportunity to debut its new scissor lift at ConExpo in Las Vegas last month, and to the delight of the company, the machine proved itself to be a hit among the visitors and exhibitors of the show.
The Crossover ERT takes advantage of existing technology, pairs it with the patented MEC single stack scissor linkage, and delivers an all electric RT performance on a slab sized and capable scissor lift.
The concept behind the development was to provide the end user with a machine that will be a “first on, last off” piece of equipment. The Crossover performs strongly on dirt and gravel and its narrow overall width of 59 inches and all electric power source enables it to thrive under roof on a slab.
In order to meet performance requirements, the platform has been offset from center to allow the edge of the platform to be in line with the edge of the chassis, allowing the operator to get closer to his work. The machine was also developed with an OEM designed, approved, and mounted sheeting rack. The rack allows easy loading, access, and use of material – which in turn increases productivity and promotes a safer work environment.
This is a machine that was designed to be an all purpose scissor lift wherein it can be used in all stages of construction and the dual use capabilities make it a preferred choice for facility and maintenance duty. MEC stands strongly behind this product and concept and is looking to have the first units delivered to clients in late 2Q 2011. The machine is available with platform heights of 26 and 32 feet, with lift capacities of 1,000 and 750 lbs respectively.
